Which brings us to this topic, Newsletters, Why you should have them and what resources are available to simplify sending newsletters.
Why you should have a Newsletter
Of course we are referring to the digital form of a newsletter, not the printed form and there are many reasons why you would want to send them out to your customers, here are just a few:
- Its cost efficient.
- It strengthens your business relationship with your customers.
- Provides an opportunity to share important updates about your business.
- Gives value to your brand if you share ideas that are mutually beneficial.
Resources for creating Newsletters
There are literally hundreds of software and/or online packages out there but we will focus on just two. PowerMessenger & MailChimp.
Many of you that we have build online stores for also have had PowerMessenger installed. This application is a way to reach out to your customer base without paying an email marketing service. The beauty of this is that it acts directly on the database used to store your customer information as sales are made through your online store. MailChimp has come a long way and is the framework used to distribute this Newsletter. It features wysiwyg (What You See Is What You Get) editors to make designing a creating email templates a snap and even though it is a subscription service they have a free (don’t we all like free) service that will allow you to send to up to 2,000 subscribers up to 12,000 emails. So if your customer base is small this could be the option for you. You can integrate it into Facebook, Twitter, WordPress and many other platforms. Thanks for Listening.
